About Me
Jan Mitchell, CKD KBDI is one of Australia's most awarded designers with an impressive number of awards to her name. Not taking these accolades for granted, Jan approaches each project from a fresh perspective. An extensive career, in excess of 30 years of drafting and design experience, places her second to none among her peers. Jan places much emphasis on lifestyle requirements and needs, taking safety, function, family, appliances, and aesthetics into consideration. These key elements are pulled together to create a unique design to suit the individual and the individual situation. "Each and every client and project is completely individual. The challenge of creating asuitable design solution encompassing wants, needs, safety, function and many other considerations is of paramount personal importance to me", Jan says. "Each client deserves to have the best solution possible within the available space. This includes the creation of suitable ergonomics, function, storage types, aesthetics and "wow factor" which suit the wants and needs of the occupants".

I am well qualified to resolve any design or client-brief requirements and can work from preliminary plans or from an existing structure. I can provide plans only or can orchestrate the whole job including liaising with your cabinet maker or mine.
This galley kitchen is the focus of the open planned living space of this new residence. Creation of the curved blade wall provided support for the trapeze lighting and "finished" the kitchen
